Condimental Shifts by Michael Snow

Michael Snow
Condimental Shifts (2007)
Ltd. edition porcelain plate
$800
Michael Snow is arguably one of the most influential experimental filmmakers in the world. Even if Wavelength (1965) were the only film that Snow had ever made, it's still likely that his place in film history would be secure. Snow, however, has gone on to produce in a wide range of media, securing his place in the international art world, as well. This porcelain plate, with a photo of swirled condiments in the center, was originally produced in 2007 by the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. The original edition of 265 pieces is sold out but Art Metropole in Toronto has ten signed and numbered artist’s proofs available. (Plus, the title of the piece shows that Snow, even as he enters his eighties, can't resist a goofy pun.)
